The Baby Lamb

This true story was about a boy who was given by his neighbor a baby lamb to have as a pet. The boy would take the baby lamb where ever he would go throughout the day. He sometimes took him down to the lake. He sometimes took him out to his little fort in the field. The boy had a friend in which he could love and share special times as a little child only knows.

One day the little boy’s father came home drunk and with no regard killed the baby lamb that boy loved so much. The boy cried out “my baby lamb is dead.” The boy grieved and grieved. This set him apart from his father. When he got to a certain age he ran away from home.

In his travels during the years he drifted from town to town until one day he was at a soup kitchen in which you had to hear a sermon before you ate. The speaker for that day said “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world,” and he said “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth.”

What this speaker said brought tears to the man eyes remembering that his baby lamb was killed when he was a small boy. How could anyone kill Gods son Jesus and why would they do it he ask the speaker?

The speaker replied, “It was Gods plan out of his love for us that Jesus would die for your sins and mine, our debt paid in full, and that you can claim this promise from God by calling on Jesus, God manifested in the flesh, to be your savior, sin bearer, and Lord, to lead you, you will have eternal life with a relationship with him, you become born again.”

The man calls on Jesus in prayer believing Jesus died for his sins and that Jesus is alive to lead him as Lord he thanks God for sending his Son to die for him.

Then the man thinks to himself I wonder if God cried when Jesus his son died? He then remembers that when his baby lamb died he grieved and grieved.

Jesus speaking, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
