Searching

Everyone is searching for something or another in their life. Some people are searching for treasure and riches. Some people are searching for happiness.

Some people are searching for a meaningful relationship.

And some people are searching for God either directly or indirectly.

Many claim to have found treasure. Many claim to have found happiness.

Some have found a meaningful relationship.
But everyone who has not found God or found by Him has no peace in their life. They have no relationship with God.

Some are struggling within their own strength to find God. Some believe to follow rules and regulations and commandments is that relationship they think. But for them to be truly honest with themselves, they have no peace at all.
Some people claim for one to know God is that they must stop sinning and promise to God that they will no longer sin and call on Jesus as their Lord that this will give them peace that this gives one assurance of ones salvation.

This is a false way. This is false truth. This is a false gospel. Many fall into this snare of the devil even well meaning people.

This is not God's, who is Holy and true to His word, plan of salvation for one to know Him.

God’s plan of salvation for you is for you to know Him for in a relationship with Him for you to have fellowship with Him.
God being all knowing knows that in your nature you will never stop sinning without His help.

And you see God in order to be just and right He has to judge sin as being wrong that it is not right in His presence, that it’s not right in peoples lives. Sin keeps people closed to know peace.

And He knows you’re separated from Him because of your sin, the wrong that you do, and in His loving goodness made it a way possible for you to have a new nature to learn not to sin with His help.

God has provided a way to remove our sin that we can know Him to have peace. Where He remains Holy and we become free coming to know Him.

How?

The Good News is God sent His Son Jesus to die for your sin, God judged our sin on Jesus. He took our place at the cross and died and rose from the dead in hope that you and I would call on Him as our Lord in faith as having done this for us. When we do call on Him our sin is removed and God can have fellowship with us.

To know Gods saving power by faith is to call upon His Son the Jesus Christ who has risen from the dead alive. Hoping you would call on him as having died in your place but also rising from the dead for you to have peace to know God, to trust in Him as having paid your price.
Would you like to place your faith in Jesus today as your Savior?

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:13

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, this is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Zechariah 4:6

Is Repentance Necessary for Salvation? What does the King James Bible tell us?
2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

    Acts 3:19 - Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Luke 13:3 - I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Ezekiel 18:21-23 - But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. (Read More...)

Acts 17:30 - And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Proverbs 28:13 - He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall have mercy.

James 4:8-10 - 8. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
    9. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
    10. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Revelation 2:5 - Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

2 Corinthians 7:9-11 - 9. Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
    10. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
    11. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter

  3. Repent = Turn from unbelief to Jesus Christ by faith.

By the Holy Spirits conviction, leading, from the word of God ones life more and more in growth will mirror that of Gods Son the Lord Jesus Christ.
If someone was genuinely born again one will grieve and sin not by instruction, Gods word, and by the Holy Spirit..

    Scripture from the King James
The first mention of the word repent we go to the Bible

The first use is in relation to God repenting

Gen 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

It is not repenting of sin but regret that God made man. No mention of sin whatsoever as God of course cannot sin.

The next mention of the word repent is …
Exo 13:17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

In this verse we see that the word repent means “to change the mind” to regret to change course or to turn from.
The question must be ask “what are we turning from and what are we changing our minds about?”

The next mention of the word repent is……
Num 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

In this verse repent here means God is not changing his mind. Repent is associated here with God that he will not go against his word because he does not lie.

A believer should repent of sin and try and live a Godly life as the Holy Spirit enables.

    True Repentance

One may feel sorrow over sin, but that doesn’t necessarily equate with repentance. How do we tell the difference? Here is the acid test: Those who are truly repentant will not care if they lose the respect of the entire world, as long as they make it right with God. They are glad that their sin was exposed so that it might be dealt with. Instead of scrambling to justify themselves, cover it up or attack the accuser, they will throw themselves on the mercy of God. They will be thankful to the instrument that exposed their sin, even if it caused them pain. They will also be willing to make restoration to those they have hurt.

At the other end of the spectrum, is a shift-the-blame mentality. The talk shows overflow with it and our public schools teach it. Sin is referred to at worst, as a “dysfunction” and at best as a “lifestyle choice.”

Yet, even in this the Church is much to BLAME. In our eagerness to “save” people, how many people have we “led to the Lord” without teaching them what it means to repent? How many churches have we filled with people who have never shed one anguished tear over their sins, and are offended at the concept? Have we forgotten to preach that our forgiveness, which we receive so lightly, was purchased by Jesus Christ, through an agonizing and lonely death on the cross?

If we truly care about our President and this nation, we will humble ourselves before the Lord and ask Him to shine His searchlight on our own hearts. If I could talk to the President, I would encourage him to speak the truth, and to weep and mourn now rather than later. We may not like the thought, but every single one of us who are Christians will weep and mourn for our sins one day— whether in this lifetime, or before the Judgement Seat of Christ. It is simply unavoidable. It is better to be ashamed now, rather than later. Better to be humiliated in our own eyes before God, than to be humiliated in front of multitudes when our unrepentant hearts are exposed.

I cannot speak to someone like the President in person, but perhaps I can do even better by praying that he will soften his heart to God and Open his eyes, and he comes to this realization himself. Perhaps, if he truly repents, his humility will light fires of revival across the land. I pray that even now, he will step out of his carefully constructed house of cards and into the reality of the knowledge of a God who hears the testimony of blood shed on the ground and sees deceit of those who are wise in their own eyes. My prayer is not just for him. It is for myself, and for all who inhabit this country that I love.

I ask God not so much that He will have mercy on us—for He has already shown us surpassing mercy in the sacrifice of His son—but that we will have the ears to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to us and the courage to obey Him. His abundant compassion is available to us fresh and new every day. God is still offering rest for our souls. May we humble ourselves in true repentance so we can receive it!
    God bless, Steve

  6. We don't obey GOD in order to have fellowship with HIM. Having fellowship with GOD makes us want to obey HIM.
